Bienvenidos !
The Selwo Aventura Theme Park is located in Estepona, a short drive away. You can go on a nice safari there !
This park is one of the best known on the Costa del Sol. It belongs to the same group that manages the Selwo Marina park in Benalmádena but the theme of the park is completely different.
In this park, you can enjoy a fun safari aboard trucks that will take you around the whole park.
During the course, you will be able to see many animal species: dromedaries, bison, camels, zebras, antelopes…
Ornithology enthusiasts will be able to admire the bird species of Caños de la Aves: toucans, gruids, ibis, tantalum…
The park also has daily raptor and snake shows.
The Selwo Delfinarium Theme Park in Benalmadena is a must visit if you like exotic animals and shows.
The most special and the children's favorite is "Las Antillas", where the Delfinario is located. Here you will be able to observe these animals as if they were in their natural habitat. It consists of five swimming pools surrounded by bleachers where you can enjoy a show of dolphins, sea lions.
In "La Hondonada", an area reserved for birds, you can also see exhibitions of flights of different exotic species such as parrots, macaws, cockatoos…
Ice Island is the home of the penguins. It is an artificial structure of rocks covered with artificial snow. The temperature does not exceed 0 degrees in order to best simulate the natural climate of these animals.
"Amazonia" represents a small piece of the Amazon rainforest. You will find many species of flora and fauna that live in this habitat.
The Tivoli World theme park is located in the municipality of Benalmadena, in Arroyo de la Miel.
SThe attractions will satisfy both children and adults.
If you are traveling with your children, you should definitely visit the Poseidon attraction, the children's dabbing boats or the 9-meter-high infant free fall.
For older children, the favorite attraction is the 60-meter-high waterfall tower: reserved for those who love strong emotions and are not afraid of altitude.
The Tivoli Dragon is also a thrill ride that will keep you upside down: the Techno Jump and its jumps; the big wheel: a great classic from which you can see the whole park and Arroyo de la Miel; the Tokaido, a roller coaster and the Tunnel of Terror.
Due to the hot summer weather, you will find many water attractions that will refresh you such as the Tivoli Agua, a water roller coaster.
We therefore recommend that you bring a swimsuit and a change of clothes.
The Caminito del Rey
The Caminito was built between 1901 and 1905 and was used to transport equipment and the passage of people between the two power plants that were built on either side of the El Chorro Gorge. However, its official opening was not made until the early 1920s when King Alfonso XIII was inaugurated, who walked through it and gave it his name. Since that time, the Caminito del Rey has become one of the wonders of Spain.
El Chorro Gorge (La Garganta del Chorro) is an amazing place, with huge rock walls 400 meters high and three kilometers long. "El Chorro" can be literally translated as "a jet", which is exactly what the water does as you descend the gorges at the foot of the precipice. The difference in height between the two artificial reservoirs at each end of the gorge thus provides a unique opportunity to produce hydroelectric power. An almost revolutionary concept at the time.
Despite the electrical interest, the real attraction has always been the concrete walkway, El Caminito del Rey, which circles the gorge halfway up the rock walls. It is said that the original structure was built by sailors who used climbing ropes and worked suspended above the void. Unconfirmed reports have also said that some of the most dangerous tasks were carried out by prisoners on death row.
